Choose this traditional Japanese bento and its blue seigaiha pattern that symbolizes prosperity, luck and peace

The first lacquered wood bentos were born during the Azuchi-Momoyama period (late 1500s). Inspired by the farmers' seed box, they were mainly used during tea ceremonies and kabuki theater intermission. Reserved for Japanese from the upscale society, the bentos symbolized a strong social marker.

This traditional bento box is composed of 3 compartments. They allow you to put food in it without mixing it. This system is very practical for separating sweet from savory for example. The strap allows you to carry your meal without the risk of it opening and spreading in your bag.

Here are our tips for a complete and balanced lunch with Japanese bento :

💯 The T-shaped divider in the bento box is removable. It allows you to manage the quantities of food and to create a varied meal for you. You can choose to mix or separate the ingredients that will make up your meal.

💯 Convenient and effective, the traditional bento is designed to keep food at room temperature. If you want to warm up your meal, we recommend that you put it on a plate that is microwave-safe.

💯 The 3 compartments of the lunch box are used to place your starchy foods, proteins and vegetables. Add a sweet note by taking a fresh fruit to enjoy for dessert.
